Video is a bit dated although the info is not. Your video technical information would be more meaningful if you spent a little time with defining or describing a "wireless mesh network". Your contact info should be at the tail end.
    Just some feedback.

  2. Hi, does the injector need to be connected to the router? I saw u connect it to power and to the AP, where does the other slot connect to?

  3. Hey Cody, would you ever put a ac pro in the loft instead of mounting it on the ceiling, if drilling holes are not an option due to renting.
    Would signal be impaired?

  4. Thanks for this. Could use help with best settings for multiple APs in a home: ant power 2g/5g, roaming, min data rate control, etc

  5. I have 8 APs Unifi AC AP PRO in same network, 7 AP connected to Switch Cisco, Now i want 1 new AC AP PRO meshed to another APs without cable, i followed your tutorial but unsuccess: There are no uplinks for this device. Could you help me?

  6. I have the Ubiquiti AP AC Pro on my network and have purchased 3 of the new AmpliFi™ MeshPoint HD mesh points. The system is configured and I have a strong connection to all the access points but was wondering if there is a way to better configure my controller to improve the speed.

I have a fiber connection with a maximum speed of 1,000 mbs and am only getting ,on average, speeds of around 150 mbs from any one of the ap's using a google speed test.

  7. I recently joined the Unifi nation and need help understanding it. I have a 400 mbps service, cable modem, Unifi security gateway, a 16 port 1-gb hub, and one Unifi NanoHD AP. I have a 3-story home that is hard-wired from the hub to every room on each floor with cat 5e. The previous wireless network suffered from dead zones. I want to hard wire an AP on each floor to minimize dead zones and give everyone in the house best access and speed. Can I create a wired mesh (if that makes sense)? How do I make it all one network? Thanks

  8. I'm considering buying a Unifi Dream Machine and use ethernet backhaul to connect it to an Unifi AP-AC-PRO. Would the integrate easily as shown in the video with UDM, creating a mesh network?

  9. Hey Cody one quick question. I have two UAP-nanoHD and I noticed that my cell phone connects to one specific AP and even if I get near the other one it never switches no the nearest AP. Is there a way to fix this? Both my AP are hardwire with a UN-8-150W. Thank for the help

  10. great videos – how do you make sure if you have more then one AP – that your devices connects to the closest AP? say you have a AP in your livingroom and one in your bedroom — ideally when you walk into your room, your laptop or phone should connect to that…

  11. I’m new to ubiquiti kit, I’m thinking of going the dream machine pro route , for a small home/office with vpn to the office hq. Using the technique above, Can you create separate vlan with main access point Pysically connected to the machine then add two separate wifi only around the home in mesh form or will all point have to feed back to the switch my thoughts are I want to separate the vlans for work completely, the two other vlan for the home traffic, and another vlan for home automation kit e.g lights , alarm etc that could be locked down or do you instead recommend going another route

  12. Great vid. Quick question, when creating the mesh using the second ap which is going to uplink to the first adapter, are you suppose to configure the channels on the first ap as well the second ap? or you can leave it both at auto, I've heard it can cause some connectivity issues on the devices connected to the wifi.

  13. When I tried this the controller would not begin adopting until I wired the device. The primary difference I noticed, is that you have a USG, which I do not have. but I feel like that would not be a requirement. I am using a Netgear router, and I have 2 flex minis, and two of the UAP-AC-PRO's. Any thoughts?

  14. Thanks for the vid. I have a router downstairs and have 3 rooms with ethernet running through the walls. Ideally I just want one big network to be meshed – any tips on how to best do this? To avoid creating a second network name/password (which I think you may have done here with the "guest" network). Really appreciate any help here – we have double brick over 3 storeys and wifi is horrible everywhere! Thinking about getting a 5 pack of these – just hoping I can mesh them all together easily and have 1 network across the house, including the main router. I don't mind also creating a second network separate to the main router if that will be more effective. Thanks so much!

  15. Great vid. You mention creating guest WiFi networks. Is that for the new wireless downlink AP?
    Eg not the MactelecomAP…?

If you have already got WiFi setup from the uplink, does the downlink APs just adopt what the WiFi credentials, eg main, guest etc of the uplink base AP so you don't have to configure anything on the downlink AP unless those become mesh uplinks for other AP?
    Hope that made sense….
    Thanks !

  16. Do i need to create another wifi (guest)? Cant i just connect to the AP and then the new Unify Pro just functions as an extension to the AP (like a mesh)?

    Sorry for newb question 🙂
