What Sony has which Samsung doesn't, or perhaps that should be what Sony lacks which Samsung doesn't is bloatware. Samsung like most phone makers these days fill your phone with impossible to remove apps, some of which you cannot even disable. Given the spec of the Sony it is good for probably 5 years as a daily and with removable storage I can use it to shoot video til the cows come home.

I have been tied to Samsung since the S4 but I am now breaking away to Sony.

I'm happy to be a part of the nobody class. My Xperia 1 III arrives next week and I can't wait. It should be a healthy upgrade from my Xperia 1. I cannot wait to use the cameras

Not the best review out there sadly. He really dont say anything about this phones strenghts. Its definately a difference looking at this screen, and another with no 4K. I strange how Sony always getting the, "its a overkill to have 4K on a screen" while not saying that to all other brands doing 8K on videokameras. Because thats overkill, when most people dont even can watch 8K on a screen. He do not mentioning H.S. feature that give the user that wanna game without gettin throttled down because the processor is getting warm. H.S. wich is a feature that works like a real computer. NO, nothing about that feature. He talks nothing about the phones soundfeatures, more than he mentioning its stereo-speakers, but not that it has Dolby Atmos, and 360 reality audio. He is very fast mention the good stuff like 3.5mm and such, but still thinks that SONY is wrong about wanting to put manual mode more out there, than AI. So in sense he believes its wrong to teach people HOW to do right when taking photos? AI in all other phones is making people learn HOW NOT to do when you taking pictures. People using the AI, takes pictures against the sun, in dark enviroment, while pople using sony Learns, that its not good taking pictures against the sun and so on. All reviewers seems to say, SONY camera isnt as good, when there isnt really something bad at all about their cameras. The problem is, that the people reviewing SONYS cameras never gives it credit, because if you knows how to work them, you can take better pictures that most AI can do.

There was a channel doing a shoot-out between latest SONY A7 III against SONY XPeria 1 II, a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, Iphone II wich shown that while Samsung and APple cheats to get pictures done through AI, Sony and SONY camera was very similary in how they saw a picture. Sony cameras was as bad in AI mode as Xperia, but both exelled in manual mode.

As of right now the Xperia 1 III is my choice of phone for the next upgrade as AT&T added the phone to the list of unlocked supported devices.
My next choice is the Pixel 6 Pro.
No way in hell I am giving my money to Samsung again.

I've yet to try the Xperia 1 iii but I've used the Xperia 5 mark 1 and 2 and I'm impressed with the features. Cinema Pro works well once you get use to it. The music player has great audio (although I don't know how it performs with high impedance headphones). The telephoto lens on the mark 1 was troublesome but it was much improved on the mark 2. The mark 3 (for both 1 and 5) brings the dual pixel AF to the telephoto camera so hopefully that brings even more consistent AF performance. Watching movies on the Xperias has always been a good experience for me. I'm happy Sony are adding more niche features rather than just following the crowd. I use my Galaxy note for productive but for entertainment and when I want to take photos for do some filming I now use Xperia.

Sony why u didn't upgraded the front camera. Looks sony will go away like LG😔

Reasons why I picked Sony 1 III over Samsung S21+:
1. Real telephoto camera
2. 4K display (yes this might seem overkill but would you rather have a 1080p screen?)
3. Battery lifespan (if you used a Samsung phone you know how fast their battery degrades)
4. Proximity sensor (virtual proximity sensor is a terrible idea, it's unreliable and pretty much useless)
5. No planned obsolescence (again if you used a Samsung flagship you know how they get slow over time, that's on purpose)
