Looks like a good budget cpu, if you have a 5700xt and 16gb of ram, which I don't have both of them.

So what would be the ideal GPU pairing for this cpu that's not overkill? My goal is to play 1080p at 60 FPS. Current rig: i3 6100, 16 GB DDR3, and an SSD. Just got xbox ultimate and want to squeeze out as much performance as I can before upgrading to a new system in a year or so.
I'm still using i3 6100 and lower gpu than this video and only using 2x4GB RAM 😅
i would love to see an i5 6600(k) and i7 6700 and or t variant. mostly the T versions, I'm quite curious on performance with half the TDP yet same on nearly everything else.
It would be interesting to see this i3 processor how to compete against the i5 3570 (non-K) and the i7 2600. It is certain that I can skip the 4th and 5th generations. Now, the i7 6700 costs here, in Hungary about 135 USD (used…) so a Ryzen 5 1600 is more competent.
All of these benchmarks are not so right. Like on CSGO for example I get around 250-300 fps not on low, but on high settings 1080p with radeon r7 370 2g (which is way worse than 5700xt) . I'd say to not believe in this such "tests" And the i3 6100 is a great choice for budget gaming cpu. If you want a multicore performance, choose the ryzen 3 1200 or ryzen 5 1600.
I'm using i3 6100 + gtx 650 ti for streaming and still works fine smooth af. Might upgrade some time

I've got the i3 7100 paired with 16gigs of dual channel ram and a gigabyte 1660 super oc cause I ran out of budget after getting the ram and gpu. Hoping for this CPU to last me at least 1-2 more years for gaming at 30 fps at least.

I just got my hands on an i3 6100 build without its GPU for 150 CAD.
The other parts are great so I was thinking of swapping it for an i7 7700k, but at 450 CAD on average, I'll stick to the i3 and add a good GPU to it…

I know the value of this chip is mentioned almost immediately. However, without wanting to buy a new motherboard, as I already own a compatible one. Is this worth buying? I’m considering returning my i3-9100f and the motherboard I bough and picking this up to save some money up for a nicer build in the future.
