China is rebuilding the Great Wall of China. However, now they build not with stones, mortar, sand and rubble, designed to stop the enemy hordes. Nowadays they build with trees. Just like the wall erected many years ago, the world’s largest manmade forest should stop the enemy that China has been fighting for many years and which is no less dangerous than the problem of overpopulation. This enemy is the desert that occupies most of eastern China and continues to grow nonstop.

How China Builds So Fast

Last month China made headlines around the world for announcing it had built a fully functioning 1,500 room hospital in just five days. This remarkable feat of engineering and logistics was executed in response to a Covid19 surge in Nangong, a city in Hebei province. It recalled a time earlier in the pandemic, when workers in Wuhan erected a 1,000bed hospital in a little over a week.
Right now, even in the teeth of Coronavirus, China’s energetic builders are not only creating hospitals at breakneck pace, but moving startlingly quickly in the spheres of high speed rail, bridgebuilding and skyscraper construction. So today we’re putting on our hard hats and asking exactly how does China build so fast?
China’s modern economic boom is little short of dazzling. Ballooning national prosperity has lifted hundreds of millions of people out of poverty, urbanised its citizenry faster than any other civilisation in human history, and created some pretty awesome infrastructure projects along the way. Not least the world’s largest dam, the world’s biggest airport and a veritable forest of shiny new skyscrapers.

★★ The Bund ★★

Coming to Shanghai and missing the Bund is like visiting Beijing and bypassing the Forbidden City or the Great Wall.
The Bund is the iconic landmark of Shanghai and the area around the Bund is the tourist center of Shanghai and is the city’s most famous mile.
The word bund means an embankment or an embanked quay.
The Chinese name for the Bund is unrelated in meaning: it means literally the \”outer bank\”, referring to the Huangpu River, because this part of the riverfront was located farther downstream than the \”inner bank\” area adjacent to the old walled city of Shanghai.
The Bund is a famous waterfront on the west bank of Huangpu River and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai.
Here, the charm of Shanghai as a bustling metropolis combining the centuryold history and flourishing future is fully presented, making the Bund Shanghai a mustsee attraction.
The most classic route to explore the Bund is either to wander from the north end to the south or the contrary way.
Along the way, you will see the most famous and attractive sight in the Bund, namely 26 colonialera buildings of different western architectural styles, which give the Bund Shanghai China the fame as a ‘museum of international architecture’.

★★ The East Nanjing Road ★★

Nanjing Road is a road in Shanghai.
The eastern part of Nanjing Road is the main shopping streets of Shanghai, China, and is one of the world’s busiest shopping streets along with Fifth Avenue and Times Square.
The street is named after the city of Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu neighbouring Shanghai.
Today’s Nanjing Road comprises two sections, Nanjing Road East and Nanjing Road West.
East Nanjing Road is committed a commercial zone.
In the west part of precinct was traditionally the hub of Europeanstyle restaurants and cafes, but in recent years some other buildings were constructed in this area, it has become less of a feature as the demographics of visitors to Nanjing Road have shifted from affluent local residents to visitors from around the country.
Close by is the Central Market, a centuryold outdoor market today specialising in electronic components and digital media.
Further west is the Nanjing Road pedestrian mall. Located there are most of Shanghai’s oldest and largest department stores, as well as a variety of domestic retail outlets, and some traditional eateries with a long history.

★★ The Largest Huawei Flagship Store ★★

Huawei hosted the Grand Opening of its largest Huawei flagship store on Shanghai East Nanjing Road on June, 2020.
The Store is Located in the Nanjing Building in the city’s thriving commercial hub, with a business area of nearly 5000 square meters.
The Art Decostyle building was built in 1935, by Mr. Silas Aaron Hardoon, a British real estate tycoon. Careful renovation, incorporating modern design and materials, has breathed new life into this historic building, making it a \”City Square\” where the local community can have fun, learn, share and innovate.
