Brilliant to the point and on point review as per usual.
The easy way to tell if a phone is overheating is to feel it. If it is hot to the touch it does not matter if there is a notification or not, it is probably overheating. My Pixel 5 is a literal burner phone at times, there is no warning, but just picking it up you do not have to have a degree in engineering to know this is not right? It does stop charging when that hot so Google knows about it and has precautions.
I record in 1080p so not an issue for me, but for navigation, the Pixel 5 is a bad choice based on my experience if you have warm/hot summers. Also, when taking photos there can be long pauses as it thinks about processing the photo! I would say in Europe there are many phones that are cheaper and better, the Nord2 is as good as any as an alternative, cheaper with a flagship-killer SoC!

The face recognition unlock on my 4xl was never that great, tap it look at it tap it look at it, this is a GOOD step back as is the jack. Same the wireless charging was fussy, move it a little this/that way, ugh, and of course slower than plug in. I get my 5a in a couple of days, who cares the color it's going in a case anyway.
Isn’t there astrophotography mode as in 4a?
Disappointed with the screen size, 5.8 inch was perfect, and it should have been 90 Hz. And is it too much to ask for the classic black and white colour variants these days?

Pixels' image processing has been getting worse since pixel 2 xl. It has primary to do with noise reduction – they suppress noise too much and the picture turns plastic-y

There are tons of options with 90Hz in this price range.
That is the only thing that would possibly hold me up from getting one were I in the US right now.
Please do not buy a pixel. Google's quality control is horendous. I've had a multitude of problems with multiple units.
