THAI Airways A350-900 Takeoff from Bangkok Airport
G’DAY OWFsquad! On 26th June, I flew Thai Airways TG606 service from Bangkok to Hong Kong, the aircraft was operated by an A350. I was assigned to seat 56A in economy class.

BangkokHong Kong is a very busy route. Thai Airways fly six times daily between Hong Kong and Bangkok with a mixture of A320, A330, A350 and B777. Cathay Pacific and Hong Kong Airlines also fly multiple times a day. Emirates, Ethiopian Airlines, EgyptAir and Royal Jordanian Airlines also fly regularly between the cities.

A new airline for me, Thai Air Asia. After a few hours layover and a bus over to Changi Airport’s brand new Terminal 4, I headed off to Thailand for the first time ever.
A pleasant flight, very polite but generally nothing special. Just what you’d expect from any low cost carrier. A long taxi at Singapore from T4, down to the opposite end of the airport for a departure from RWY20C. Once in the cruise, no communication from the flight deck means I didn’t actually find out what our altitude was. But we headed North West over the top of Kuala Lumpur and beginning our descent over the Strait of Malacca. Passing over the top of the beautiful Phi Phi Islands before turning inland towards Phuket. The approach unveiled some beautiful small islands and incredible views.

AirAsia Thailand CEO talks down staff at Virtual Townhall
On Sunday (25th July) a recorded video of an AirAsia GoJek Virtual Townhall that included Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AirAsia Group, President of AirAsia Digital and Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of AirAsia Thailand amongst other AirAsia staff went viral.
On Tuesday (27th July), AirAsia Group boss Tan Sri Tony Fernandes has apologised for the CEO’s behaviour but added the original clip was edited.
