Art Thomya, a Thai singer/songwriter, will show you AMAZING NATURE sites in SA KAEO, a small town in Eastern Thailand which is regarded as a true hidden gem. It is also considered a gateway to Indochina as it is adjacent to Cambodia. Although Srakaew is one of the least populated provinces in Thailand, there are several amazing nature sites. I’ll show you in this episode.
Lalu is a word derived from Khmer language, meaning ‘pierced’. Sculpted by rain and wind, Lalu in Ta Phraya National Park is a miracle of nature that comes in many shapes and sizes. You can apply your creativity in exploring this amazing landscape and get some great photo or video shots. Lalu is also located next to rice fields and mountains, so we can enjoy the scenery of this beautiful contrast. Tips our young guides are local students who are trained to welcome visitors of all nationalities, so please feel free to give them some small gifts if you are happy with the trip.
From Lalu, we drove around 1:30 hours to a nice cafe amidst a beautiful nature called ‘Wood House’. This place is surrounded by 3 big limestone mountains called ‘Khao Chakan’. With a field of yellow flowers, this is not only a perfect place for a cup of coffee or tea, but this is a nice and serene area to witness a large flock of bats that will come out of the mountain cave every evening during sunset. Khao Chakan is the only place in Thailand with this huge number of bats. It truly is another miracle of nature in Sra Kaew.
Local food can be found on the streets. Khao Mun Gai or Chicken Rice is one of my favourite dishes. The secret is about the sauce which is a combination of garlic, chilli, and sated soya bean sauce.

🇹🇭 SA KAEO - Amazing Nature of Thailand (UPDATED)

Deepest Freshwater Pool in Southeast Asia! (Krabi, Thailand)

Our Krabi site http://www.SeeKrabi.com We cover all of Krabi Ao Nang, Ko Phi Phi, Krabi Town, etc.
I first found this freshwater pool about 5 years ago as we visited Krabi Thailand one time. There is a kayaking area, and an elephant trekking spot in Sa Kaeo, and I was checking out the elephants and decided to keep going down the road. I found a very cool set of limestone caves, not deep, just on the surface fun to explore though.
When I walked further down the road I found this small lake. The water was fresh not salt. It was nice… I swam in it there are small fish, and there used to be a wooden pier to lay down on and ignore life.
Then I did some research online and found out this is the deepest freshwater lake in southeast Asia. It’s 200 meters deep. That’s 600+ feet!
There are no signs. I never saw a brochure about it there are no tours to this place. I’ve only seen one other foreign family at this place in 5 years. I’ve been here about 2 dozen times.
Anyway if you want to visit it, I’ll put a post about it at my http://www.SeeKrabi.com site under \”Sa Kaeo Pool\”. Will put the exact link here if I remember. Go see it you can also climb through the caves, do elephant trekking in the best place in Krabi for trekking, and take kayaks down a freshwater spring stream (down current little paddling) for cheap.
Sa Kaeo (Sra Gaew) is a great day trip from Ao Nang or Krabi town.

🇹🇭 KORAT – UNESCO World Heritage in Thailand

Welcome to Korat or Nakhon Ratchasima. With vast forest areas, Korat is known as the province with amazing nature including UNESCO’s World Heritage Site. Let’s get some fresh air and indulge ourselves with the pureness of mother nature together.
I am delighted to show you the amazing nature of Khao Yai National Park. We are entering at the main entrance which is the north side of the park, located in Pak Chong district.
Establised in 1962 as Thailand’s first national park, it was declared UNESCO’s World Heritage Site in 2005. The park covers an area of over 2,000 km2, covering 4 Thai provinces Nakhon Ratchasima, Prachinburi, Saraburi, and Nakhon Nayok.
We start our tour by paying respect to Chao Por Khao Yai. Chao Por Khao Yai or ‘Palad Jang’ was a soldier and nature conservationist who helped protect the nature around this national park area almost 100 years ago.
I would recommend you to stop at the Visitor Centre which is 14 kms from the main entrance because you will find useful information. There are exhibitions inside giving you some ideas of how Khao Yai National Park has been developed.
Outside, it is also one of the best locations in the park to spot some common birds. Kingfishers and hornbills are frequently seen.
Khao Yai is a part of the Dong PhayayenKhao Yai Forest Complex; a World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO, covering 5 protected areas from Khao Yai to Cambodian border. The other protected areas are; Pang Sida National Park, Thap Lan National Park, Ta Phraya National Park and Dong Yai Wildlife Sanctuary.
Khao Yai has existed for over 140 million years and used to have many species of dinosaurs. The fossils or footprints have been found in this area.
As there is a large diversity of plants and wildlife, including endangered species, Khao Yai is an important research site that benefits to not only Thailand, but also the world as a whole.
Khao Yai has many waterfalls, most of them easily accessible by car combined with a short trail. Some needs longer hiking with guide assistance. But let me show you the mustvisit one – Haew Narok Waterfall or Hell Abyss Waterfall. The waterfall is accessible by a 600meter long trail from a car park next to the main road.
This three tiered waterfall has total altitude of 150 meters and is the biggest waterfall in park. The water drops down to lower part very heavily and the sound resounds throughout the forest.
Another mustvisit spot is Haew Suwat Waterfall. Many film scenes have been taken at this waterfall. The jump scene of Leonardo DiCaprio from the movie “The Beach” is the most famous one.
The waterfall is only a hundred meter off from its carpark area. There is a restaurant next to the carpark which is regularly open.
There are two campgrounds within the park, both with toilets, showers, and parking spaces. Tents and accessories such as sleeping bags, pillows, blankets are available for rent. The areas around both campgrounds are ideal for hiking. During winter time in Thailand, from November to February, the night temperatures may fall down to 910 °C, so warm clothes are recommended.
Less than an hour drive from the main gate of Khao Yai National Park, we have arrived a Korat Geopark named Khao Yai Thiang, located in Si Khiw district. Up on a mountain lies a reservoir with biking route around. Such a great recreational place for the public. Bikes are available for rent at an affordable price. The air is so fresh here.

Besides, this location is a place where the clean energy is produced. Taken care by Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, giant windmills are used to produce electrical power. We can also get good photo shots from the windmills as well as the panoramic view over Lam Takong Dam and the highway on the lower level.
Khao Yai area is full of great recreational places and accommodations. There is a large variety of hotels and resorts which allows you to stay closer to nature. This is one of the areas in Thailand with purest air. Therefore, staying overnight here is highly recommended.
For wine lovers, you can explore vineyards and wineries as well as enjoy good food and drinks.
Last but not least, I would like to show you the local food scene at the most famous night market in Korat, Save One Nigh Market.
Hope you enjoyed the amazing nature in the city of World Heritage. Click the links below the video to discover more. Wish you a great trip to Korat MICE City!
