Linus… You can bind your windows install to a Microsoft account; bypassing this problem entirely. I'm also dang sure that businesses have options when dealing with the issue; otherwise we'd be running school PC's on Linux(Nothing against Linux… It's a great OS. But could you imagine a school buying a windows license for every PC?)… Even if you're worried about publicizing your Microsoft Email on YouTube or something- You could easily create a throw away account; and just attach a windows install to it.

just confused by microsoft. I had new a new computer, and had win10 installed without a license key. While playing league of legend, couldn't get more than 60 fps and quickly dropped to 45 fps. On the game settings i had max fps enabled and changing video quality changed nothing about my fps drop. After activating my windows 10, i didn't have that problem anymore. Had fps over the 100 and never had it dropped below 60. My computer is perhaps not with a RTX 3060 bet is good enough. So performce drop perhaps not, bet still doing some background stuff maybe ?
When I was shopping for Windows 10 I knew exactly what I wanted – Windows 10 Pro 64-bit full package with jump drive media. The products offered do not give enough information to tell if this is what I want. They do not even give enough information to tell if it is only a key, an OEM copy, or a download. Microsoft's download does not say if it is 32 or 64 bit or upgrade or full. How can I find exactly what I want?

I took a 2 tb hdd out of a pc i found on the side of the road and got the acticate windows prompt. Swapped the motherboard and it went away 🙂

I use a software called the Windows tokens manager. Since my system came with an OEM Win 10 SL and I had upgraded it to Pro version. I do this offline too and it works like a charm. (I had to reinstall windows 15 times this year due to a faulty Seagate HDD (had to replace it 14 times until I had to go and buy a SSD.)
i recently upgraded everything in my pc. New mobo, gpu, cpu, ram, drives, the only thing that stayed was my case and the old (wiped) drives. I duplicated my drive onto the new drive before wiping everything and managed to keep windows. how did i do this
