Welcome to the Investors Trading Academy talking glossary of financial terms and events.
Our word of the day is “Exchange Rate”.
Exchange rate is the value at which one currency may be converted into another. The exchange rate is used when simply converting one currency to another such as for the purposes of travel to another country, or for engaging in speculation or trading in the foreign exchange market. There are a wide variety of factors which influence the exchange rate, such as interest rates, inflation, and the state of politics and the economy in each country.
In finance, an exchange rate also known as a foreignexchange rate, forex rate, FX rate between two currencies is the rate at which one currency will be exchanged for another. It is also regarded as the value of one country’s currency in terms of another currency.
For example, an interbank exchange rate of 91 Japanese yen to the United States dollar means that 91 yen will be exchanged for each US dollar or that one US dollar will be exchanged for each 91 yen.
Exchange rates are determined in the foreign exchange market, which is open to a wide range of different types of buyers and sellers where currency trading is continuous: 24 hours a day except weekends.
The spot exchange rate refers to the current exchange rate. The forward exchange rate refers to an exchange rate that is quoted and traded today but for delivery and payment on a specific future date. In the retail currency exchange market, a different buying rate and selling rate will be quoted by money dealers.
Most trades are to or from the local currency. The buying rate is the rate at which money dealers will buy foreign currency, and the selling rate is the rate at which they will sell the currency. The quoted rates will incorporate an allowance for a dealer’s margin (or profit) in trading, or else the margin may be recovered in the form of a \”commission\” or in some other way.

TRADING STRATEGY:

1. Look for the pair that has BLUE BOX
2. STRENGTH must EXTREME BUY / EXTREME SELL
3. STATUS must BUY / SELL
4. CURRENCY STRENGTH must be above 50 or below 50
5. ADR value below 80%
6. Take profit 2050pips for beginner
7. Trade only during London and New York Session.

Time :
The time given is according to GMT +8.
Current Active Currency :
The green bars show the currencies are stronger, the longer the better and the red ones show the currencies are weaker, the longer the better.
Top Scalping Buy and Top Scalping Sell :
The longest green bars show the currency pairs that are the most active currency pairs and best pairs for an instant buy entry.
The longest red bars show the currency pairs that are the most active currency pairs and the best pair for instant sell entry.
ADR :
The Average Daily Range shows the average pip range of currency pairs measured over a certain number of periods.
When ADR is above average (more than 100%), it means that the daily volatility is higher than usual, which implies that the currency pair may be extending beyond its norm.
Best Trading Hours :
First 2 hours during each trading session; Sydney, Tokyo, London, and New York
Take Profit and Stop Loss :
Use the given TP and SL price if you want to trade along with the trend. The price will be not given if the market does not follow its major trend direction.
If the current price is exceeded the TP price the font color will turn into black in color.

This nimble spreadsheet can download daily historical exchange rate data for a list of currency pairs within a specified date range. Downloading historical foreign exchange rates couldn’t be easier by using the form that comes with the spreadsheet. Just enter a list of currency pairs, enter the start and end dates, select a frequency, and click the download button. Your currency data will be automatically downloaded and organized into a new sheet within the same file.
The historical currency data is downloaded from Quandl.com, a free search engine for numerical data, through its API. As of 1/15/2015, Quandl limits anonymous data downloading to 50 API calls per day, which is equivalent to downloading data for 50 currency pairs per day. If you sign up for a free Quandl account, Quandl provides you with an authentication token under your account settings which lifts your download limits to 2,000 API calls per 10 minutes and 50,000 API calls per day. Limits are subject to change. Please refer to Quandl’s API page for the current limits.
