just bought one of these, rockin with the 560 ti
Got an old lenovo with an i5 2400, added a GT 1030, upgraded the processor i7 2600, and now about to put the whole board in a larger case and pair it with a better PSU and a GTX 1070. A very roundabout way of doing things, to be sure, but having been out of the gaming scene for years I was reluctant to put down a big initial payment getting a rig up and going when I didn't know how much use I'd make of it. If I see the CPU bottlenecking me then I guess that will be the last remnants of the Lenovo system rendered obsolete, but if I keep that OEM case then the board can just go back in there and it can return to its life as a snappy little office PC.

Oem mobo won't support unlocked processors learned the lesson after buying an i5 2500k and coupled it with an oem lenovo h61m mobo.. It didn't work it sucked.. After searching for about 1 month bought a Z77 asrock extreme 4 for damn cheap… Now i5 2500k is running at 4.5ghz with a cooler which I got for nothing on a recycle center…
Using it right now, my old pc died so i got that one for cheap. Doin pretty fine for me.
i7 2600k with a GTX 960
I am running a Xeon E3-1245 which is basically the Xeon version of the same CPU. I have it paired with an RX 570 8GB and it runs everything I need it to from photo and video editing to 1080p gaming.
I am using this exact cpu to this day. We got it probably when it was new back when I was in elementary school. The computer died and I wasn't smart enough to figure out why. Years later I tried fixing it, failed, put it back downstairs, came back a year or two later and got it working with a new drive. I'm using that computer to type this message now. Specs are: Intel Core i7 2600, MSI 1050 ti 2ghz core clock, 16gb of ddr3 running at 1333mhz. Still plays games very well.

I have an i7 2600, 16gb of ram and a gtx 1050 ti I’m planning to upgrade to a gtx 1060.
Still have this CPU in an OptiPlex 790 SFF paired with a GTX 1650 (Asus low-profile version), one 120 GB Adata SSD and a 1 TB WD Blue SSD and 4 x 4 GB DDR3 1333 MHz. My brother is using it now for playing League of Legends with a secondary monitor for Discord, Messenger, etc. What suprises me is that the stock 250W PSU handles all of these with no problem (with UPS).
2021, Coire i7 2600 + 12 GB RAM + GTX 1080. All AAA games runs like butter and some in 4k. The only freaking game that is freaking me out because of the ingame lag is Warzone.
i got a hp 8200 tower, not a mini, with a HP motherboard i7 2600 chip with a Geforce 970 gtx graphic card. Since tower is an atx, I was thinking about swapping out to AMD with a Ryzen 7 1700 cpu, just for the hell of it and AMD is relatively inexpensive.

I just got my dads old pc for free it’s got an i7-2600 and 16 gigs of Ram. I just need to upgrade the psu and get a graphics card. I think if I get any variant of a 1660 I’ll be good for at least a few years.

Damn, my first gaming pc that I built had an i7 2600 on it, paired with 8gb dual channel ram and a 750ti. That was 6 years ago and it was a lot of fun back then.

i7 2600/16gb ddr3 dual channel/12gbssd & 4tb hdd/1060 3gb plus a Coolermaster 550w in a RoG Stryx HD40 case (added an RGB strip myself lol, and a $10 Deepcool Mini cooler). runs like a beast, and i can do Cyberpunk 2077 in 1080p medium

I use a 2600 which I upgraded from an i3 2100. Makes a lot of difference. I've initially used a gt1030 which was not sufficient so switched to a 1650 super. Solid 1080p experience. I would love tk see a similar spec machine featured in a video. ❤️❤️

I have a 2nd gen xeon (i7 basically) with a gtx 980 and 16gb ram in an optiplex 790mt. It works fine, but personally if you can get hold of 4th gen lga1150 and a 4770 (pcie 3.0) for a little bit more money that would be a much better setup. Graphics card excluded…… the price difference on an optiplex 7020mt with a 4770 vs a 790mt with a 2600 is about £50. Well worth the extra imo for the gen performance boost (approx 30%).
Im running a Xeon E5-2689 (OEM Xeon which is basically 2 2600s glued together) 32gb of 1866mhz ECC memory and a GTX 1070.. The machine is able to stream 936p at 8000 bitrate with max quality NVENC settings. I do suffer from framedrops time-to-time, but off stream 1080p high/ultra with 8x MSAA in most games.
I turned my old gaming desktop with one of these CPUs (2600 non K variant) into a Plex server. It runs like a champ too. No GPU as I do not use hardware encoding on my server.
