it has issues with its hinge, mine broke on the left side and have to frequently re-tighten some screws on the inside so the hinge stays put.

This laptop is a total piece of garbage. Cant run any games (even really old games) without any lags or fps issues. Dont buy this bullcrap.
how come battery life not discussed at all
I have one. It's not a bad laptop for the price…but the last con he mentions is a biggie…the screws fall out of the screen hinges and that breaks the case. Dell will not cover it in their warranty. If you get one, open up the back, pull out the screws on the screen hinge (upper corners…there is one on each side) and add some loctite to hold them in place.

Awesome laptop. However after a year of usage the LCD cable got broken at the hinge of the screen! now the picture on my screen gone at the particular angle of opening. Super upsetting since the warranty just expired
All I can say, if you didn't buy it yet do yourself a favour and don't buy it!

I'm being told now that even on the 4k screen version the screen isn't good enough for graphic design :/ , I can't find any non gaming laptops that are powerful enough and within my price range
i only hear bad stuff about the newer version screen, did the screen actually got worst compared to this version?

I've got the Inspiron 7566, which is virtually the same, and got a question, do you know what the light in the front center indicates when it is on? I saw that the laptop you reviewed also got this light.
What would you recommend between this one and the more recent 7566? I don't see much of a difference except for the lack of an IPS panel and a new design. Would the lack of an IPS panel make much difference?

my previous purchase from dell was also upgraded to 3 years and it was worth it cause usually the 2nd and 3rd year have plenty of problem coming in .

Also with the 1080p version, the screen is matte and has great anti glare. Really great battery too.
I got this laptop for $800 on Amazon a few months ago. It had 8GB RAM and no SSD but I upgraded the RAM and will put in an SSD. The 1TB hard drive is a hybrid though so even as is it's pretty fast.
