how are people doing with photo editing and video editing now with this. Saw one for 345 8 ram 500gb I will use an SSD hard drive. I'm also looking at software that's not Adobe for photo editing
Great video. I love this model, probably one of the best laptops I have ( and I actually have 3 of these ). Never let me down and it's quite solid.
I have few tips for anyone looking for such machine:
1. AVOID the non-IPS low-resolution screen at any cost, it's horrible. Look around for the full HD model with the IPS panel.
2. Use a high-quality SSD like Samsung to have the best performance possible for this platform.
3. Install at least 8GB RAM ( 16GB max if possible ) and you will have one snappy machine to work on.
Honestly, the only drawback I can think of right now is the lack of M2 slot and the outdated processor. But still, it performs like a charm.

got an e7440 with i7, 16gb ram, 256SSD and a fullhd display for 230€. only downsides so far are the touchpad and it runs a bit too hot and noisy

That is a mini display port not a thunderbolt port, but I believe you can get a dock for this laptop that includes a thunderbolt port.
