Some seniors want text and calling ONLY while carrying the smallest phone / flip phone possible. The smaller the better because they carry it in their pocket (no cargo pants!).
If I want video, pictures, video conferencing, I'll use my laptop.

I’m 65. Quit using the “seniors” word. Good God. I JUST retired from the federal government. I use everything my grandchildren use, equally as well.

Back in my day our mobile phones didn't have touch screens. Instead we needed a pager to go along with it!!! And doctors still use those. Old but not obsolete I say!! With my shaky hands, it's easy to hit the wrong "buttons" on a smartphone's touch screen. The precision real buttons have is no match for newfangled technology.
So after 5 minutes of you only talking about iPhone's it's time for me to go, you're not offering any android devices at all what a waste of my time

Some seniors couldn’t navigate a smartphone if their life depended on it & many lack the dexterity to use a touch screen.
My mother tried to use different iPhones for years and couldn’t figure them out, even after taking classes. It would have been helpful if you had included other options.

When my flip phone rang, I OPENED it and spoke. When I was finished…. I CLOSED it. That was all I ever wanted from my cell phone. Now texting is required for security reasons, like alarms for the home go off, SPAM texts have to go SOMEWHERE, liars who don't want to go to work, meet for lunch…. "with a friend" Yeah, I'm old and it's too late to "go back to the simple days of the cell phone" due to technology and demand. sigh…..
My grandma looks up anything she wonders about on google, orders meal prepping services, and so much more on her phone!
I will tell you not true. At least with my Mother In Law. She gets annoyed with all the options. She just wants a phone that calls and texts, but needs it big enough to see the texts. Maybe we need to say what age you're talking about when it comes to "seniors". My Mother In Law Is a hip 85 year old and looking to simply her life without all the extras. This is her quote.

My dad is a freak he tries but I swear he just has no clue about garbage and garbage out. I have arrived at his place and I have to spend 30 min trying to figure out what he fked up. Sometimes he required a factory reset. He somehow gets help device on the phone and it takes over. I want him to get a land line but he dislikes the long-distance charges. My dad is a daily issue. He even screws up the tv box for satellite. I've tried to teach him he got where he watches you tube but he needs phone separate. Oh he has had his bank account drained because he just has no clue what he is doing.
What BS, you wouldn't know a good phone if it bite you in the BLEEP!! I'm 68 have had my Samsung rugby for 6 years, and it still works better than my son's and daughter's 800 dollar phones!!!!! We live out in the country and they always have trouble connecting with their phone's. I don't need or want all the apps and I had the internet function turned off; I have a laptop for internet!!! All I need a phone for for is making phone calls and texting!!!!!! With the new change over to 5G, I'm being forced to get a different phone!!!!! 😒

Wasted my time watching this video with truly not helpful information. One thing first let’s not make seniors look bad at all, There are plenty of seniors that know how to work a smart phone but unfortunately there’s seniors that just don’t wanna mess with all this new technology. And you guys can quote me on this, seniors are wiser then all of us younger guys. They are done with all the bs and social media, all you guys are doing is just advertising the iPhone🤦🏻

While your points ring true for the typical senior. My mother is very mentally disabled and she can’t answer her I-phone for anything. We got her a jethroe phone after 6 months with the IPhone and she currently has both.. she has no problem answering the jethroe phone.. I gave her both because I have a app that tracks her location on the IPhone but when I need to talk. To her the only phone she can answer is the jethroe.
These guys are clearly focused on I Phones.

My son, who is a web developer, had a flip phone for many years. He would scoff at smartphones, especially when his closest phone store would try to sell him something else. His comment would be, “I work with technology all day”.
Now as to your comments about seniors, I’m a senior who taught computer science when windows came into being. And for me, I don’t want to have all the superwompidine features simply because I have no need for them, so why bother having to pay for it? And trying to have someone explain to me simple features such as the camera (megapixels, gigs of memory, etc.). I have an Iphone SE and I have yet to get the icons larger on my home screen.
Teach a few people above age 70 and 80 how to use an android or ios interface. For just the regular tasks. Email, messages, social media, photos and calls. Come back and tell the story.

flip phone is a true phone, a smart phone is not a phone its a computer that is equipped with phone and camera. personally all i need is a phone.
I live in a retirement building with 200 apartments. I help seniors with their phones a lot. These guys do not differentiate between different elderly users or users needs. For example: If there is an unlock screen, some due to mobility issues cannot get the pin number in, before the phone goes to voice mail. The voice mail cannot be used by some because there is too many sequenced steps to remember to get to voice mail and use the functions in voice mail. How many seniors have these guys actually sit down with and helped with their phones?
I agree with "gabbebelle" TOTALLY. SENIORS just cannot afford on Social Security those phones. They don't need voicemail, or email or internet at all. My Senior 86 year cousin is listening to Telemarketing and ordering crap that I have to turn around and cancel. That is my biggest issue right now, that I have to be mindful. I think someone should invent a phone telemarketers CANNOT call. That ONLY relatives in their call list can call and 911. SHOW ME THAT! I am 65 years old and own a Jitterbug. I just want to be able to call my loved ones and use for emergency. I worked in telemarketing for more than 20 years, telemarketers kiddnap my phone. You guys mean well, but Seniors are vulnerable and easy to scam.
Smartphone to complicate complex for people 45+ in age! Flip phones and simplistic few feature phones are ideal.
Not my dad. He is really bad with technology and his frustration turned anger is really 🤦♀️ on my life. I often would loose it just explaining to him why you need passwords for emails. Ugh 🤦♀️
Seniors are smarter than kids. Because they have adapted to huge paradigm shifts….many of them…. while kids know tech because they were 2 years old and had, if not a cell phone, a load of electronic gadget toys. This video's approach was well intended but poorly executed.

This video is not helpful. 6 minutes on debunking stuff and less than 3 on the best phones. Am I missing something or did they only recommend two phones as the best, the $500 IPhone XR and the $300+ Google Pixel 3a. Both of which I wouldn't recommend to my older family members. My biggest issue with these is that these phones do a 1,000 things that seniors probably don't need. My family member who is looking for a new senior phone wants talk, text and to be able to browse the web. Apps, photos, videos are a distance 4th.
