Just got mine (first Sony phone coming from an S7 and before that S5) and am currently looking at review while loading music onto it. I really like it but haven't used it all that much yet. What I would want in the future:
-Less tinny speaker sound (idk if it's my case? It sounds pretty crap imho. Fix that and it'll be a HUGE upgrade).Edit: found the issue (came to think about it while typing this out). OK so speakers are fine.
-Possibly more physical buttons (programmable; away with Google assistant) and for sure some moved to the left side (volume buttons on the left, like the S7, would be more ergonomic imo. Low thumb buttons is hard to reach and you need to shift your grip).
-Higher max brightness.
Haven't used it a whole lot yet but the rest I've been impressed with so far. I bought it used, for a steal, on a bit of a whim after cracking my S7 (with crapped out battery). Funny thing is I bought it after looking for 5 inch phones and saw it recommended. The fact that this is considered a compact phone is crazy to me. Not everyone is blessed with giant gorilla hands…
I really liked my Z3 plus and than I dropped it and destroyed my screen. Never did get another Sony phone though because I thought everything they had out was garbage. But now finally, this is what the next Z3 Plus should have been. Very well done Sony.

Is 4K 120 only on the main camera or is it also on the ultra wide and telephoto?
As for the Xperia 1 ii, honestly, 4K at that size is an overkill anyway.
im current on tour in the army and gooing home at the end of this month and ive just bought this phone to treat myself fingers crossed ive made the right choice

This would've been a perfect phone, .. all they needed to do is put a camera with at least 20 MP and not this 12 MP crap from 2010.
I can't quite decide… I'm going on 4 years with my Xperia XZ1. Would this really be worth it? This sounds like it takes all of what I love about the XZ1 and fixes the nitpick problems, which I have with it. I just wish the bezels were larger.

the most underrated phone ever
DO NOTE extremely aggravating you can ONLY use 120fps 4k with the 24mm sensor. NOT the 70mm sensor which is where it would actually be useful.
You also can NOT switch between the sensors while recording which is also really really annoying.

I am still rocking my Xperia Xz3. Huhu. its still a beast of a phone. Will be upgrading to these at the end of this year.
