im running it with 1.35V and 140 BCKL and it runs like a dream

And here I stand, having thought that BCLK was only adjustable to about 103 MHz. I didn't expect lowering the memory clock would help so much as it did here.

Also thanks for doing a video about BCLK OC, there's not many of them out there even in 2021. There's no way I'd be spending a 100 bucks more just for an unlocked multiplier without switching straight to Ryzen (or whatever comes after it).

Hey Paul, I have had this board running on single 8gb 2400 ram for 4 years now. I finally upgraded to two sticks of 8gb hyperx RAM at 3200 MHz but my PC won't boot at full RAM speed, it only boots at 2400mhz dual channel. I cleared BIOS and even updated to the latest available beta BIOS and it's still the same. Any idea what's wrong?

Its not the cpu, its your motherboard. im actually on a 6500 right now that's running at 4.58 @ 1.300v, I had it at 4.67 stable with the same voltage. Why in the world would you under clock your RAM to 2800 when its 3200mhz modules? Not to attack your style but you're an amateur overclocker clearly, I despise people like you giving half assed tutorials on how to overclock when you yourself really don't know what you're doing. You haven touched load line calibration, spread spectrum is still enabled, phase switching, you're running WAY too high for the speed you're at. You can easily see the package temp by using HWmonitor or HWinfo but again your motherboard is trash (asrock) and lacks many temperature sensors, still doesn't stop you from seeing the package temperature. If anyone is interested in overclocking a locked CPU, please don't listen to this dim wit, he is only speaking about 5% factual information, there are many others that have better tutorials

I have a 7270 extreme 4 motherboard and a i5 6600k, but was thinking of buying an i7 6700 for really cheap on craigslist for an upgrade, but I heard you can no longer overclock the non-k chips because the new bios on the motherboards wont allow it?

Surely you could just use core temp to see your CPU temperature, That is if aida64 is not displaying temps.

I was building my first PC. I purchased a ASRock z170 fatal1ty professional gaming motherboard and an I7-7700, and a noctura nh-u12S. It wasn't until I was assembling it in my new case that I realized that I didn't get a k, it's my fault it was a mistake. Now I'm stuck with what I have because I don't have the money to buy another i7-7700 just for the k. It's definitely a good overclocking board, but tbh I have no idea what I'm doing. Can someone give me some idea what to do. I tried 150 as the bclk and the board just tried to start three times then went to the bios with a message that it had set the bios to defaults because it could not start. Can someone please help me make my i7-7700(no k) CPU go faster than the 4.1ghz windows reports with the bclk on auto. I tried putting it on 100 and in windows it's only at 3.6ghz. so it's got to be higher than 100 on auto. I already spent a lot of money on a Samsung 970 pro nvme for a boot drive and a Celeron just to flash the bios. In trying to sell the Celeron now. Everything is from eBay except the case, I'm not rich.

i have a gigabyte h97 mobo and a non-k 4590 cpu. some guys in youtube manage to lock the turbo boost from the bios, but my mobo doesnt allow me to do it. any advice /?

How was the temperatures? I oc’ed mine once to 4.0ghz but the cpu temp on msi afterburner is showing that the temp is 100c, im not sure why.
