กฎหมายศุลกากรมีความเกี่ยวข้องกับการนำของเข้ามาในราชอาณาจักร โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง ของที่มีกฎหมายกำหนดว่าหากจะมีการนำเข้ามาในหรือส่งออกไปนอกราชอาณาจักร จะต้องได้รับอนุญาตหรือปฏิบัติให้ครบถ้วนตามที่กฎหมายไว้ในกำหนด ผลิตภัณฑ์สุขภาพอาทิ ยา เครื่องมือแพทย์ อาหาร เครื่องสำอาง และวัตถุอันตราย ที่อยู่ภายใต้การกำกับดูแลของสำนักงานคณะกรรมการอาหารและยา กำหนดให้บริษัทผู้นำผลิตภัณฑ์เหล่านี้เข้ามาต้องได้รับใบอนุญาตเสียก่อน นอกจากนี้ผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ได้ขึ้นทะเบียนกับหน่วยงานภาครัฐ ในประเภทหนึ่งประเภทใด เช่น เครื่องมือแพทย์ อาจมี พิกัดอัตราศุลกากรที่จำแนกประเภทสินค้าเพื่อประโยชน์ในการจัดเก็บภาษี ในประเภทอื่นที่ไม่ใช่เครื่องมือแพทย์ หากบริษัทผู้นำเข้า ไม่ใช้ความระมัดระวังและใส่ใจอาจก่อให้เกิดปัญหาต่อการดำเนินกิจการของท่านได้
